We have received many comments on how the Lo-Flo™ Sprinkler is saving people water, time and money. The following area is a selection of responses from both email and a survey conducted through Mitre 10 Glenunga SA.
Brilliant sprinkler! I am saving water and time using the loflo sprinkler. My old round metal sprinkler would take 3 hours to water the garden, lots of moving every 15 minutes and lots of flooding. The loflo sprinkler covers a wide area but doesn’t flood. I can now water the yard in half the time and it’s looking great.
I water my lawn in the evening (under water restrictions), unfortunately we get quite severe gully breezes in our hills location, consequently much of the water applied with my old sprinkler, that threw quite high, was simply blown away and wasted on my paving. Because your sprinkler throws its water very low, I can now irrigate my lawn without water being wasted. Thank you.

I use my rainwater tank to water my backyard, mostly grass (50sqm, via sprinkler) & pot plants (via watering can). For years I've used a tap timer and basic sprinkler that doesn't spread the water very far, due to the lack of water pressure from the tank. As a result it was taking a lot of re-positioning to cover all the grassed area and it never watered it evenly anyway. The temptation is to just use the mains water because it is easier, rather than trying to do my bit to save water (it isn't about the money).
With the Lo-Flo Sprinkler, the spread when connected via a standard length 12mm hose & tap timer to my full rainwater tank is 2m x 2m and a more even spread than any other sprinkler I have seen.
I'm almost certain my old, round metal rainwater tank is 1,000 gallons/4,500 litres. The tank sits on a solid base raised 65cm. The tank itself is 180cm high and 220cm diameter. When the tank is full, the flow through the tap timer into a watering can is 6 litres per minute. The flow rate through the tap timer and standard length 12mm hose connected to the Lo-Flow Sprinkler is 1.5 litres per minute.
I set the tap timer to 30 minutes, so 45 litres of water covers the 4sqm of lawn with each positioning. I believe this is equivalent to approx 12mm of rain.
I hope this provides you with some useful 'data from the field' and wish you all the best with the Lo-Flo Sprinkler - a great product.

We have recently installed rainwater tanks specifically to water our garden and save on mains water. We have tried other sprinklers off these tanks, without a pump, and have been very disappointed with their results as they mainly bubbled or had a very small throw and mainly flooded a small spot. We were extremely pleased to find your LoFlo sprinkler does everything we want. It covers around 2 metres and puts out 1.5 litres per minute (yes we’ve measured it!!). The best part is that it waters evenly. We are so happy, not only can we use our rainwater tanks properly but save our valuable mains water too.

We are extremely pleased with your new sprinkler and wanted to let you know. With water restrictions eased last November, making sprinklers legal again, we started using our old metal sprinkler. I have not taken too much notice of sprinklers before but was appalled at the amount of water it put out and how much water seemed to run off. After reading Jon Lamb’s article on your sprinkler we decided to purchase one to see for ourselves. I must say, I was amazed at how little water it seemed to put out (5 litres according to the tag). What I am most impressed with is how low it throws the water and how evenly it goes on, nothing like our old sprinkler. There is no run off and we are saving buckets of water. We have bought another 2 sprinklers which we have joined together at 4 metre spacing. We are now watering our entire garden in one line in a fraction of the time it took to water with our old sprinkler. Well done!
Thanks for the new sprinkler. We are now using less than half the water than we used to and still have a great garden.

Was looking at installing pop-up sprinklers but too expensive. Have tried your sprinkler and it’s great.
